The TH1000RP and TH1100RP are the flagship RP headphones, featuring Fostex's state-of-the-art RP planar magnet driver technology in a solid wood housing. Dyed with Aizome from Tokushima, known as Japan's famous indigo dyeing method, the headphones are carefully crafted in Japan. This unique texture brings out the beauty of the individually varying wood grain unique to the traditional Aizome. Fostex's 50 years of experience in flat membrane RP technology is reflected in two flagship models: the closed TH1000RP and the open TH1100RP.

High quality RP planar magnet driver

Based on the RP planar diaphragm driver technology developed in 1974 and continually refined since then, the TH1000RP and TH1100RP offer a new planar diaphragm that is significantly larger than the conventional RP drivers used in the T50RPmk3/mk4. In addition to the increased number of magnets surrounding the membrane and a new printed coil path, the magnetic circuit components have been redesigned to optimize magnetic flux distribution. All of these factors work together to suppress unwanted resonances in the membrane. This simultaneously achieves high sensitivity, a balanced frequency response and excellent transient response, enabling precise and sensitive reproduction of deep bass to high frequency ranges and the ability to convey a clear sound image in the room with a clear sense of localization.




Casing made of solid maple wood, refined with "Aizome", a traditional Japanese dyeing method

The solid maple wood case, well-known as a material for guitars, is colored with Awa Aizome from Tokushima, which has long been valued for its high-quality coloring. The wood is hand-colored piece by piece by experienced craftsmen. The result is a deep indigo blue color that beautifully highlights the unique grain of the hard maple wood. Coloring with Aizome, derived exclusively from the indigo plant, makes it possible to utilize the density and specific gravity of hard maple without unnecessarily coloring the sound, giving the listener a powerful, deep bass range and a clear, extended high frequency range can enjoy.

The open-back TH1100RP reproduces a natural sound image with high resolution and low listening fatigue, as befits a high-quality open-back RP listener, with etched aluminum applications in the housing opening and careful fine-tuning of the opening ratio and the individual internal parts.

True indigo, the dye used in Aizome, is a natural dye with a long history in Japan and was even used in Edo period ukiyoe prints. Among indigo dyes, Awa Aizome from Tokushima has long been known throughout Japan as an indispensable dye for high-quality dyed goods because of its rich and luxurious appearance. The TH1000RP and TH1100RP casings are colored with Aizome, made exclusively from natural Tade indigo that does not harm the wood, and is applied repeatedly by hand over a period of several days, with a curing period in between.

New, lightweight mechanical parts made from magnesium alloy

A revised design using magnesium alloy for mechanical parts such as: B. the housing base plate and the suspension, help reduce the overall weight by 20% compared to aluminum. A rubber seal is used for the rotating mechanism to avoid excessive vibration as much as possible. The design concept, which takes into account every detail of each part, has further improved the wearing comfort.

Redesigned ear pads with new materials

The newly designed ear pads, asymmetrically shaped to optimize comfort, are made of elastic pads and silk protein synthetic leather, which is three times more durable than traditional ear pads and ensures a comfortable fit even during long periods of listening.

Flexible adjustable head cushion and headband

The head cushion and headband are made from natural sheepskin and offer a supple and comfortable fit.

7N-OFC cable for internal wiring and high quality connector connection

Both the removable connector on the headphone housing and the removable plug connector are rhodium-plated connectors. A balanced connection is also supported with the optional XLR cable (ET-H3.0N7BL), and a 4.4mm balanced cable (ET-TH4.4BL) is also planned for release.

Includes high-purity OFC cable (unbalanced)

Included is a high-purity 7N OFC (Oxygen Free Copper, 99.999999%) cable that eliminates impurities to the utmost and improves transmission performance.
